From idea to realization: how the GRACE high chair was created – the story of Linda, the founder of Elodie.

The idea: a four-year dream
About four years ago, I started thinking about the next step for Elodie. We already had a wonderful collection of feeding accessories—bibs, plates, and cutlery—all those little details that make mealtimes special. But one thought kept returning: something was missing. A high chair.
But not just any high chair. I wanted to create a chair that fits naturally into the home—as practical as it is beautiful, one that grows with the child and becomes a part of the family table, rather than just another piece of children's gear.
The creative process - a balance of design and functionality
From day one, the goal was to make a piece of furniture that families would love, not just for its looks, but for how it works. My team and I worked closely to find the perfect balance between elegance and practicality. We sketched, prototyped, and tested until we achieved the soft, sculptural lines that fit into any interior—whether modern, classic, or somewhere in between.
Every detail matters. The removable tray that brings the child closer to the table, the adjustable footrest, the smooth matte finish—these are not just aesthetic choices, but carefully considered details that make everyday life simpler and more beautiful.
Multipurpose use - growing together with your child
What I love most about the GRACE high chair is that it adapts to the child over the years. It is not just a high chair—it is a chair that grows from the very first days up to about the age of six. The newborn attachment allows even the smallest ones to be part of the family table, and as the child grows, the chair transforms—the tray is removed, and the seat and footrest are adjusted. It becomes a familiar place for the child, throughout all those daily family moments.
A high chair for togetherness - creating memories at the table
If there is one idea that guided me throughout the process, it is the belief in togetherness. I have always considered mealtimes to be one of the most special times for a family—a time for stories, laughter, and little moments that become lifelong memories. GRACE is designed to facilitate that connection. By having the child sit closer, without bulky trays, space is created for everyone to truly be together.
Scandinavian design - simple, functional, beautiful
At Elodie, Scandinavian design is at the heart of everything we do. That means creating products that are both functional and aesthetically pleasing. With the GRACE high chair, we wanted to ensure it fits perfectly into both a modern city apartment and a warm family home. Clean lines, a matte finish, and carefully selected colors bring a perfect balance of form, function, and warmth.
Craftsmanship - built to last
We carefully chose materials that are not only beautiful but also durable enough for daily use. We used sustainably sourced materials, fabrics that are pleasant to the touch, and parts that are machine-washable, focusing on longevity and quality. Life with children can be messy, which is why we made GRACE easy to clean and maintain. You can put the tray in the dishwasher, wipe the whole chair down, or even rinse it off in the shower. It is designed to fit into life, not complicate it.
The final product - the perfect blend of form and function
After four years of dedicated work, numerous prototypes, and countless late nights, I am proud to introduce GRACE to you. It reflects the values of the Elodie brand—design, functionality, and love for family.
